Long-scale structures in genomes

Abstract


We studied the occurrence of two (independent) structures in genomes: the former ia determined by the distribution of triplets to the nearest neighbour, and the latter is determined by the distribution of triplets at the given distance. `The nearest neighbour' means that two triplets were studied in the manner where the second triplet never occurred somewhere in between the starting one, and the edning one. This structure makes a kind og bridges in genomes. Barions intriguing multipeak distributions have been found; some of them seem to have a clear explanation raising from the molecular mechanisms of DNA processing, others do not. The distribution of the triplets at the given distance also yileds a number of quasi-periodic and non-random structures. These entities correlate to some extend to the structures determined by the distribution to the nearest neighbour, while the seem to be independent at most. The structures were modelled with various DNA models, an abundant genetic material has been checked for the structures.
