Abstract

In order to avoid that faulty units reach following production stages, and cause further costs and energy consumption, quality control steps need to be realised. Within the production, many different arrangements of quality control steps are possible. This paper describes an evaluation of costs and energy consumption depending on the arrangement of quality control steps based on a sample process sequence. The results of the evaluation show the different possible economical and energetic savings. Moreover the paper shows how far the cost optimal arrangements differ from the energy optimal arrangements.
